Marketly is a retail automation platform designed to help small and medium-sized businesses digitize and automate their day-to-day retail operations. I owned the entire technical trajectory — from product discovery through to production deployment.

As co-founder and CTO I designed the cloud-native architecture from scratch, built the backend on Java and Spring Boot, and stood up the CI/CD and cloud infrastructure that let a small team ship reliably. Just as importantly, I sat with business stakeholders to translate product ideas into a data model, workflows and an architecture that could grow with the business.

What I owned

  • Owned the complete software development lifecycle as co-founder and CTO — from product discovery and architecture through implementation, deployment and production support.
  • Designed and implemented the cloud-native system architecture from inception, including the product data model and business workflows.
  • Architected a microservices-based system using REST APIs, applying SOLID and clean-architecture principles throughout.
  • Built scalable backend services in Java and Spring Boot, with data persistence on MySQL, Spring Data, Hibernate and JDBC, and messaging via RabbitMQ and Kafka over Spring Cloud.
  • Established end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, containerized with Docker and automated with Jenkins.
  • Introduced modern engineering practices from day one and continuously optimized performance and architecture through iterative refactoring.
  • Produced technical documentation covering architecture, deployment and business functionality.
  • Worked directly with business stakeholders to translate product ideas into technical solutions and continuously refine priorities.
